Local businesswoman Aneela Rose has been appointed to sit on the board of directors at Sussex Enterprise, the Chamber of Commerce for Sussex, and help steer the strategic direction of the organisation. Aneela currently runs her own successful public relations consultancy and has been actively involved in the Sussex business community for many years.
The board of directors exists to guide and support the senior management team at making strategic decisions that help to improve the business environment for Sussex firms. Sussex Enterprise has seventeen board members representing businesses from across Sussex and from a wide range of industries.
Mark Froud, chief executive at Sussex Enterprise said, “I am delighted that Aneela has joined the Sussex Enterprise board of directors. It is vital that we have experienced business people like Aneela to advise us on the needs of small businesses. Our aim is to keep in touch with our members to make sure we are offering the best possible service and Aneela’s insight will be an enormous help with this.
Her energy and enthusiasm is limitless and she is prepared to air her views and make a stand on behalf of small businesses. Her vast experience both with large corporate organisations and as a small business owner means she has a wide knowledge of business issues at all levels.”
Aneela’s varied career has involved pubic relations and fashion retail. Prior to running her own public relations company she worked within PR and marketing at ADA computer systems, a reseller of IT products and services and manufacturing firm SEOS. Both companies are multi-award winners and based in Burgess Hill. She has also owned and managed a fashion retail outlet and recently launched an online jewellery service. She graduated from Anglia University with a BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies with Marketing.
Aneela is also involved in a number of business support groups including the Dynamic Asian Business Network (DAWN). She has won the following high profile business awards; Success in Business Award 2005 from Anglia University and the Dynamic Asian Business Woman 2004.
Aneela commented “As the owner of a small business in Sussex and member of Sussex Enterprise I understand the needs of member businesses. My new position on the board will give me the opportunity to put forward the views of my fellow members and offer impartial advice to the senior managers at Sussex Enterprise.”
Sussex Enterprise board members all hold non-executive unpaid positions. Nine are elected by the members, three are co-opted from the voluntary, public or charitable sectors by the board and five are the Executive Directors of Sussex Enterprise. Board members serve a three year term and can serve three terms of three years.
